Our Client
Our client is bringing ownership of its digital platform in-house and building a new Digital Products Team. This is an opportunity to become the first technical hire, take full technical ownership of a key business platform, and help drive digital growth, customer retention, and operational efficiency.

Our client is specifically looking for a hands-on Senior Developer with strong full-stack web development skills and commercial experience developing, maintaining, or improving e-commerce or online ordering platforms. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with an understanding of how digital platforms support customer experience, online sales, and business growth.

Direct commercial experience with Social Stack is essential, as you will take ownership of the existing platform, including its development, upgrades, troubleshooting, and ongoing improvement.

The immediate priority is to make the website secure, stable, reliable, and easy for customers to use when placing orders. Once this foundation is established, you will help shape the next generation of digital products, AI-powered tools, and web applications that strengthen customer engagement and improve business performance.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on platform ownership and technical direction. There will be no immediate direct people-management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full technical ownership of the Social Stack website, including development, upgrades, troubleshooting, performance, reliability, and ongoing improvement.
• Develop, maintain, and improve full-stack web applications and customer-facing digital platforms.
• Improve e-commerce and online ordering functionality, customer journeys, conversion, repeat ordering, and customer retention.
• Maintain website security, uptime, compliance, backups, monitoring, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, professionally, and with clear communication.
• Own the technical roadmap, balancing platform stability, technical debt, customer experience, and commercial priorities.
• Manage testing, deployments, release planning, change control, and post-release reviews.
• Build and maintain integrations with ERP, CRM, databases, APIs, reporting tools, Microsoft 365, and relevant third-party systems.
• Identify and remove barriers that make online ordering and customer self-service more difficult.
• Create clear, scalable documentation covering architecture, code, releases, integrations, and support processes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Services, Operations, and Finance to prioritize technical improvements that deliver measurable business value.
• Design and develop web applications, client-facing tools, dashboards, and AI-powered solutions that improve customer engagement and operational efficiency.
• Develop internal automation tools and AI-powered workflows that reduce manual administration and improve decision-making.
• Use analytics, customer feedback, and sales insights to identify opportunities for improved digital adoption and reduced manual order processing.
• Support the company's objective of achieving 90% digital sales by 2027.
• Help shape the long-term evolution of the digital platform, including evaluating future technologies and migration opportunities where appropriate.

Your Background

Essential Requirements

• Strong commercial experience in full-stack web development, with the ability to work across front-end and back-end technologies.
• Hands-on commercial experience developing, maintaining, upgrading, or troubleshooting e-commerce, online ordering, customer ordering, or self-service platforms.
• Commercial experience developing and maintaining Social Stack websites, including working directly with the codebase and supporting live production environments.
• Experience performing Social Stack upgrades and resolving platform or production issues.
• Experience integrating websites and applications with business systems, databases, APIs, and third-party platforms.
• Strong understanding of website security, performance, scalability, monitoring, testing, release management, and code quality.
• Practical daily use of AI tools to support software development and workflow improvement.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to connect technical decisions with customer experience and business outcomes.
• Ability to take ownership of technical projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

• Experience with ERP, CRM, Power BI, or similar business systems and reporting platforms.
• Experience building dashboards, customer-facing reporting tools, or self-service applications.
• Experience in B2B, distribution, wholesale, retail, e-commerce, or other product-based businesses.
• Experience improving online sales, order processing, customer retention, or digital adoption.
• Experience shaping a technical roadmap or establishing digital capabilities within a growing business.
• Experience developing web applications, AI-powered tools, integrations, or workflow automations.
