Senior full-stack engineer

About the role

We're hiring a senior full-stack engineer to lead day-to-day development of Opportunity Tracker, our construction opportunity-management platform. The application helps teams manage leads, evaluate which opportunities to pursue, coordinate work, and track pricing and decisions.

You'll lead development of Opportunity Tracker, building new features and improving the application as customer needs evolve. You'll help shape technical decisions and support other engineers through code reviews and shared problem-solving.

You'll work alongside our engineering and implementation team and help guide technical decisions as we grow.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain features across the React frontend, TypeScript backend, and PostgreSQL database.
• Take work from understanding the problem through implementation, testing, review, and release follow-up.
• Turn customer needs and team feedback into practical product improvements.
• Learn the product's business workflows so your technical decisions support how customers actually work.
• Identify bugs, technical risks, and maintainability problems, then propose practical ways to address them.
• Help shape the application's architecture and keep it running reliably.
• Protect customer data through careful authorization, tenant isolation, validation, and database changes.
• Review code, explain decisions, and help other engineers improve.

What we're looking for

You have experience building and maintaining production web applications across the full stack. You're comfortable working in an existing codebase, understanding its design, and improving it without rewriting it unnecessarily.

You should bring:

• Strong TypeScript and React experience, including forms, data fetching, and complex application workflows.
• Experience building backend services and APIs with Node.js or a comparable backend platform.
• Solid relational database skills, including SQL, data modeling, migrations, and transactions.
• An understanding of authentication, authorization, and protecting data in applications used by multiple customer organizations.
• Experience testing features, diagnosing problems, and supporting software after release.
• Clear communication about technical decisions, uncertainty, and delivery risks.

We value initiative and sound judgment. You ask questions when requirements are unclear, understand the problem before implementing a solution, and follow through without needing every step prescribed. When you spot an issue outside your immediate task, you raise it and help decide what should happen next.

You stay organized, take feedback well, and keep developing your engineering skills. You're curious about changes in software development and can distinguish a useful tool or technique from something that adds complexity without solving a real problem.

Our stack

We use TypeScript across a React frontend and Node.js backend, with PostgreSQL and AWS. Our tools include Fastify, tRPC, Drizzle ORM, Docker, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.

You don't need experience with every tool we use. Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn matter more than an exact stack match. Experience with multi-tenant business applications is especially relevant.

Location and benefits

This is a full-time, in-person role based in Canonsburg, PA. You'll work on-site with our team. This role is not remote or hybrid.

The anticipated base salary range is $100,000–$150,000 annually, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
