Position Overview

A technology-driven organization in Irvine is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join its engineering team.

This is a hands-on development position for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building production software, and having ownership from initial design through deployment and ongoing improvement.

You'll work across frontend and backend development while collaborating with Product, UX, Data, and other Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance customer-facing web applications and backend services.
• Develop frontend solutions using React and TypeScript.
• Design and implement backend functionality using Node.js, Kotlin, Java, or similar technologies.
• Create and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Develop cloud-based applications and services using AWS.
• Work with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Design solutions that can scale as application usage and business requirements grow.
• Participate in architecture, system design, and technical planning.
• Write and maintain automated tests at multiple levels.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and determine underlying causes.
• Participate in peer code reviews and technical discussions.
• Help improve development standards, engineering processes, and application quality.
• Mentor other engineers and share technical knowledge.
• Work directly with cross-functional partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from planning through production.

Required Background

The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong React and TypeScript experience.
• Backend development experience with Node.js, Kotlin, Java, or comparable technologies.
• Experience working with REST and/or GraphQL.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or another major cloud environment.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience implementing automated testing.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with SQL/relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience developing or supporting distributed, production-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other teams.
• Experience participating in architecture discussions and code reviews.

AI / Emerging Technology

Interest in AI is highly valued. You don't need to be an ML engineer, but experience applying AI technologies to software products is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

This is an engineering role with meaningful technical ownership. You'll be expected to contribute beyond simply completing assigned tickets—helping determine how solutions should be designed, how they should scale, and how they should perform in production.

Compensation

$155,000–$195,000 base salary + annual performance bonus

Final compensation will depend on experience, technical qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.
