Senior Fullstack Engineer - Messaging Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Fullstack Engineer - Messaging Platform to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This role will help shape a multi-channel messaging experience that supports reliable communication at scale. You will own both frontend and backend work, partnering closely with product and design to deliver intuitive user experiences and strong platform performance. The position also calls for thoughtful contributions to localization, developer experience, and architectural decisions as the platform continues to evolve.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $164,448 – $234,926 annually

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance the user interface for multi-channel messaging.
• Own frontend features from design to implementation using React and TypeScript.
• Debug and evolve backend services, including Java and Apollo.
• Support localization workflows for reliable message rendering across markets.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to improve features based on user needs.
• Enhance developer experience through improved testing infrastructure and documentation.
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform evolves.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building complex web applications using TypeScript and modern UI frameworks like React.
• Strong understanding of state management, GraphQL, and component-library design.
• Experience creating tools for internal users with a focus on intuitive operator experiences.
• Proficient in both frontend and backend systems, including Java and API contracts like gRPC and REST.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and data tools such as GCP, GKE, and BigQuery.
• Ability to make informed decisions about technical debt and communicate trade-offs effectively.
• Experience collaborating across shared codebases and understanding team dependencies.
