Position: Senior Fullstack Engineer – Node.js, React & Azure AKS Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are hiring on behalf of a UAE Government Department for a hands-on Senior Full Stack Engineer with 8+ years of software engineering experience to build and maintain robust, cloud-native enterprise applications. This role requires strong hands-on capabilities across backend development, frontend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and delivery automation.

The successful candidate will have advanced proficiency in Node.js, React, TypeScript, and Azure DevOps , with the ability to contribute to technical architecture, improve application performance, and guide engineering teams. Experience with Golang for backend development is an added advantage.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Full Stack Engineering

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and modern development frameworks.
• Create responsive, high-quality frontend experiences using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and event-driven services across enterprise systems.
• Apply modular design, clean architecture, and reusable engineering patterns.

Cloud Infrastructure & Delivery

• Deploy, configure, and support applications within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate workloads with Kubernetes, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Develop and maintain automated build, testing, and deployment workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Implement effective monitoring, logging, and production support practices to maintain system reliability.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Participate in architectural planning and contribute to key technical decisions.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and encourage consistent coding standards.
• Work closely with product, design, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation and troubleshoot complex application or performance issues.

Essential Technical Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years in software development, including enterprise-grade applications.
• Backend: Strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Frontend: Proven experience developing production applications with React.
• Cloud & DevOps: Practical experience with Azure services and CI/CD automation using Azure DevOps (mandatory) or GitHub Actions.
• Containers: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, including AKS.
• API Development: Experience designing, building, and integrating REST APIs.
• Databases: Understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies.
• Application Security: Knowledge of authentication, secure application development, and performance optimization.
• Engineering Practices: Familiarity with Git-based workflows, Agile delivery, debugging, and production troubleshooting.
• Professional Skills: Strong analytical thinking, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership capabilities.

Additional / Preferred Skills

• Experience building backend services with Golang.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven system design.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-native solutions on Azure.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability solutions, including Azure Monitor.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and supporting other engineers in a collaborative development environment.

Important – Location: 📍 This is a 100% onsite role based in Abu Dhabi. Candidates must either be currently based in Abu Dhabi or be willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi from another emirate.
