Senior fullstack software engineer - Biotech Hardware Startup

We are partnering with a cutting-edge biotech startup building next-generation hardware devices powered by advanced software and AI.

The company is entering a new phase of structural reorganization. This is not a maintenance role — this is an opportunity to help redesign and scale the entire digital backbone of the company.

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer who has evolved in tech-driven startup or scale-up environments, ideally around hardware-enabled products (IoT, devices, robotics, audio tech, medtech, etc.).

The Opportunity

You will design, build and scale the digital architecture powering our devices and data ecosystem.

You will work at the intersection of:

• Hardware systems

• Backend architecture

• Frontend applications

• Automation layers

• AI-powered capabilities

You will collaborate closely with engineers, scientists and product designers to seamlessly connect devices, data and user interfaces.

The company is currently reshaping its tech structure — which creates strong evolution potential, including a possible Lead role in the mid-term for someone willing to step up and structure the team.

What You’ll Do

• Help to shape the technical vision of our digital ecosystem, aligning architecture decisions with long-term product and business objectives

• Architect, develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python (FastAPI)

• Contribute to and improve our React-based frontend application

• Connect sensors, devices and automation layers to the digital ecosystem

• Integrate AI features and agentic systems into our products

• Ensure scalability, robustness and reliability of the overall infrastructure

• Participate in architectural decisions and technical direction

• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code

• Iterate quickly in an experimental, product-driven environment

Who We’re Looking For

• 7–15 years of experience in fullstack development

• Strong expertise in Python (FastAPI or similar modern frameworks)

• Solid experience with React

• Experience working in startup or scale-up tech environments (not purely large corporate environments)

• Ideally exposure to hardware-enabled products (IoT, embedded systems, connected devices, robotics, audio tech, medtech, etc.)

• Experience with Docker and containerized environments

• Familiarity with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms

• Interest in AI APIs, automation and connected systems

• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work cross-functionally

• Fluent English (French is a plus)
