Senior Fund Accountant

Context

The Senior Fund Accountant mission is to perform Fund’s Net Asset Valuation calculation in respect with the local GAAP or IFRS, internal accounting procedures, and International Standards such as ISAE3402.

In this role, the Fund Accountant will mainly provide calculations for Luxembourg Funds. The Senior Fund Accountant is responsible for the second level of controls and participates in maintaining high standards in terms of quality of internal and external relationships.

The Senior Fund Accountant must understand the operational and financial risks related to the fund accountant mission to guarantee a quality service in line with client expectations. They also assist with the follow-up of different queries from clients.

Missions

• Perform Fund’s Net Asset Valuation calculation in respect with the local GAAP or IFRS, internal accounting procedures, and International Standards such as ISAE3402.
• Be responsible for the second level of controls and participate in maintaining high standards in terms of quality of internal and external relationships.
• Understand the operational and financial risks related to the fund accountant mission to guarantee a quality service in line with client expectations.
• Assist with the follow-up of different queries from clients.

Key responsibilities include:

• Net Asset Value calculation in respect of procedures and the ISAE3402 standard:
  • Ensure zero default quality.
  • Ensure reconciliations are performed (cash, securities, shares in issue) and any difference is explained.
  • Ensure follow-up of pending items and escalate to management in case of long and/or impacting pending issues.
  • Calculate and control the Net Asset Values.
  • Check that the pricing of the underlying out of tolerance is correct with the usual pricing sources.
  • Provide answers when required to any person in charge of an action in the NAV cycle.
  • Respect clients’ Net Asset Value publication cut-offs.
  • Contribute to all tasks relating to the lifecycle of funds (launch of share class, deactivation of share class, liquidation).
• Understand the operational and financial risks related to the fund accountant mission:
  • Use the “Self Risk Assessment” documents.
  • Inform manager immediately when an error has been discovered or in case of a problem affecting client duties.
• Respect client publication cut-offs by adapting work in relation to daily planning.
• Year-end closing and audit:
  • Ensure all documents are available in due time for auditors.
  • Provide answers to auditors within two business days.
• Participate in maintaining high standards in terms of quality of internal and external relationships by providing professional answers within agreed standards.
• Participate in projects such as funds migration, funds merger, launch of new funds, or liquidations.
• Assist the good operation of the team by:
  • Improving procedures.
  • Training juniors and new staff.
  • Ensuring a second level check and archiving of the NAV pack.

1. 8 to 10 years of experience as a Fund Accountant
2. Good knowledge of Multifonds Global Accounting (MFFA) software to be quickly operational
3. Strong understanding of local GAAP, IFRS, and International Standards such as ISAE3402
4. Experience in Net Asset Valuation calculation and related controls
5. Ability to perform second level controls and maintain high quality standards
6. Knowledge of operational and financial risks related to fund accounting
7. Fluency in French and English
