🚀 We are hiring: Senior GCP Data Engineer (Hybrid - Bucharest) | Luxoft

Are you a Senior Data Engineer with solid expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) and PostgreSQL ? We are looking for an experienced engineer to help shape next-gen Digital Banking solutions and modernize enterprise data platforms!

You will design scalable cloud-native data pipelines, optimize BigQuery data marts, fine-tune PostgreSQL databases, and support key database migrations (Oracle to PostgreSQL/BigQuery) within an international financial tech ecosystem.

💼 Key Responsibilities:

• GCP Data Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage .
• BigQuery Engineering: Optimize queries, partitioning, clustering, and storage costs for large-scale analytics and reporting.
• PostgreSQL Engineering: Design schemas, indexes, stored procedures, and perform deep database tuning and capacity planning.
• Cloud Migration & Modernization: Support the migration and refactoring of legacy workloads (Oracle) to cloud-native PostgreSQL and BigQuery .
• Governance & Security: Implement IAM controls, encryption, data security, and operational best practices across cloud environments.

🎯 What we are looking for:

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with relational and analytical databases.
• GCP Expertise: 1+ years of proven hands-on experience building and optimizing solutions in Google BigQuery .
• PostgreSQL Mastery: Deep expertise in PostgreSQL administration, schema design, PL/pgSQL development, and performance tuning.
• Version Control: Proficiency with GitHub for collaborative engineering workflows.

🌟 Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with Oracle migrations to PostgreSQL/BigQuery (Oracle SQL/PL-SQL, Ora2pg tooling).
• GCP Certifications ( Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect ).
• Infrastructure as Code ( Terraform ) and Containerization ( Docker, GKE ).
• Workflow Orchestration & Data Streaming ( Cloud Composer / Airflow , Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub).
• Python scripting for automation and data processing.
