Senior General Manager

Role Overview

The Vice President of Operations/Senior General Manager is responsible for leading, integrating, and optimizing all operational functions of the corporate canteen food service business. This role provides enterprise-wide leadership across Operations, Finance, Human Resources, and Purchasing to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality food services across all corporate client locations. The VP of Operations/Senior General Manager ensures strict cost control, food safety compliance, service excellence, and operational scalability while partnering closely with executive leadership and corporate clients to drive sustainable growth and long-term profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Operations Leadership

• Provide strategic oversight of all operational departments, including Operations, Finance, HR, and Purchasing.
• Establish and enforce standardized operating procedures aligned with corporate client expectations and internal governance.
• Ensure operational consistency, efficiency, and brand integrity across all sites and departments.
• Conduct regular site visits across all outlets to assess performance, compliance, service quality, and leadership effectiveness.

Client-Focused Service Delivery

• Act as the senior operational point of contact for corporate clients.
• Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations are consistently met or exceeded.
• Lead resolution of escalated client issues and implement corrective and preventive action plans.

Food Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with corporate food safety standards, local health regulations, and internal audit requirements.
• Oversee quality assurance programs, HACCP implementation, and sanitation standards across all locations.
• Partner with culinary leadership to maintain menu consistency, nutrition standards, and ongoing innovation.

Financial & Performance Management

• Oversee operational financial performance in collaboration with Finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Monitor and drive key performance indicators (KPIs) such as food cost, labor efficiency, client satisfaction, and waste reduction.
• Lead margin improvement initiatives through process optimization and disciplined operational execution.
• Ensure all stores and corporate offices abide by the annual budget and meet targets on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Leadership, Governance & Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop Corporate and Store leadership teams across all departments.
• Lead, chair, and facilitate Management Committee (MANCOM) meetings and departmental leadership meetings, in the absence of the President.
• Act as the President’s delegate on operational matters when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making.
• Shadow the President across key executive functions to gain full visibility into strategic, financial, and organizational priorities.
• Support the President in executing corporate strategy, monitoring enterprise performance, and driving cross-functional alignment.
• Serve as a trusted operational advisor to the President and executive leadership team.
• Build a strong leadership pipeline supported by succession planning and performance management frameworks.
• Foster a performance-driven, service-oriented, and compliant corporate culture.

Supply Chain & Purchasing Oversight

• Provide executive oversight of procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, and vendor performance.
• Ensure continuity of supply, cost efficiency, and adherence to corporate sourcing and sustainability standards.
• Implement standardized purchasing practices and inventory control systems across all outlets.

Growth & Strategic Initiatives

• Support new corporate account onboarding, site mobilization, and contract renewals.
• Lead operational due diligence for new business opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, digital transformation, and scalable operational models.
