Senior Group Portfolio Pricing Analyst

The opportunity

Chubb Life is aiming to be New Zealand's number one life insurer, and Group is a big part of how we get there. This role sits at the centre of Group pricing: pricing new schemes, re-rating the existing book and keeping a close eye on how the portfolio is actually performing.

Reporting to the New Business Manager, you'll own Group portfolio pricing end to end.

Group pricing touches Distribution, Underwriting, Claims, Product, Actuarial, Operations and Global, plus reinsurers and advisers. Your job is to land pricing that wins business and still holds up at renewal, backed by solid data and within our approval frameworks.

What you’ll do and own

• Build structured pricing recommendations for new Group opportunities, backed by solid modelling and clear commercial rationale
• Run detailed re-rate analysis on existing schemes, covering claims experience, demographic mix and historical performance
• Track portfolio performance through loss ratios, profit margins, claims volatility and participation levels
• Keep the quoting and renewal pipeline moving and meeting agreed turnaround times and SLAs
• Spot and escalate emerging risks and adverse trends, and turn your analysis into clear insights for management
• Find ways to automate and standardise pricing and re-rate work, and keep pricing rationale well documented

What you'll bring

• Solid experience in Group life insurance, ideally in Group administration, underwriting, pricing support or portfolio analysis
• A good grasp of Group scheme mechanics and TPA/IFA structures
• Hands on experience analysing claims and performance data, with sound commercial judgement
• The ability to turn complex data into clear, structured recommendations, with excellent spreadsheet skills
• Confidence explaining your numbers to underwriters, distribution, reinsurers and advisers
• You work well independently, juggle multiple priorities and deliver on agreed timeframes
