Senior Guidewire Developer

Location: Netherlands

Employment type: Contract 12 months + extensions to be confirmed

We are looking for an experienced Senior Guidewire Developer to support the delivery and modernisation of core insurance platforms in the Netherlands.

You will combine hands-on development with technical leadership, working closely with architects, business analysts and insurance stakeholders to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter or BillingCenter .

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance Guidewire applications in line with business requirements and agreed architecture.
• Configure business rules, workflows, product models and user interfaces within the relevant Guidewire platform.
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems using APIs, messaging and other integration patterns.
• Develop and maintain Gosu code, automated tests and supporting technical documentation.
• Translate functional requirements into clear technical designs and development tasks.
• Investigate defects, resolve production issues and improve application performance.
• Conduct code reviews and promote consistent development standards.
• Support releases, upgrades, data migration and cloud transformation activities where required.
• Mentor developers and contribute to technical decisions within an Agile delivery team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions support insurance operations and customer needs.

Essential experience

• Strong hands-on experience developing and configuring Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter or BillingCenter , with deep expertise in at least one.
• Proficiency in Gosu , with a solid understanding of Java and object-oriented development.
• Experience with Guidewire data models, business rules, PCF configuration and integration development.
• Experience working with REST/SOAP services, XML, JSON and relational databases.
• Understanding of property and casualty/general insurance processes relevant to your Guidewire specialism.
• Experience using Git, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing within an Agile environment.
• Ability to take ownership of complex development tasks and explain technical decisions clearly.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Desirable experience

• Guidewire Cloud implementation, migration or upgrade experience.
• Relevant Guidewire certifications.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud APIs, Integration Gateway or digital solutions such as Jutro.
• Exposure to the Dutch or wider European insurance market.
• Dutch language skills.
• Experience mentoring developers or acting as a technical lead.
