Senior Hardware Engineering Lead (Compute Test)

About the Opportunity

A leading developer of advanced electronic test, measurement, and instrumentation technologies is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineering Lead to join its Digital Instrumentation team. This is a highly visible player-coach leadership role that combines hands-on digital hardware design with engineering team leadership.

You'll lead the development of next-generation instrumentation products while directly contributing to architecture, PCB design, debugging, and product execution.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of hardware design engineers
• Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for digital instrumentation products
• Design, develop, prototype, and test complex PCB and PCBA hardware systems
• Oversee schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, and manufacturability
• Drive hardware projects from concept through production release
• Partner closely with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Support project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management
• Improve engineering, testing, and manufacturing processes
• Troubleshoot complex hardware issues and support product quality initiatives
• Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate industry best practices

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience in a player-coach role
• Strong digital circuit and instrumentation design background
• Expertise in high-speed PCB design and complex multilayer boards
• Solid understanding of signal integrity and electronic system design
• Experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and related debugging tools
• Knowledge of hardware design, validation, testing, and quality methodologies
• Experience with SERDES technologies and protocols such as PCIe and 100G Ethernet
• Strong project leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to balance technical contribution with team management responsibilities
