The Role

The Senior Housekeeping Supervisor owns the cleanliness and physical condition of every Sojourn home in Washington, DC. Our cleaning is performed by contracted vendor crews, and you are the person who holds them to the Sojourn standard. You will spend most of your week inside our homes — inspecting, scoring, coaching, and making sure every guest arrives to a home that is ready.

This is an accountability role. It is not a scheduling role, and it is not a cleaning role.

What You'll Do

• Inspect at least 25% of DC turnovers in person each week, photo-documented and scored in Boom against the Sojourn DC Clean Standard
• Manage DC cleaning vendors end to end: monthly scorecards, performance reviews, invoice approval, and a consistent escalation process
• Own asset condition — furniture, finishes, fixtures, and linens — with damage reported at every clean and a monthly condition report
• Write, maintain, and train the Sojourn DC Clean Standard, and onboard every new vendor crew in person
• Manage housekeeping inventory and par levels so no turnover fails for missing stock
• Serve as the DC escalation point for same-day turnover issues and in-stay cleanliness concerns, and own the outcome until it is resolved

Role Details

• Reports to the Director of Operations
• Full-time, exempt
• Five days per week, including Saturday and Sunday; weekday off rotates
• At least 60% of your time in the field across Capitol Hill, Dupont Circle, Georgetown, and surrounding neighborhoods
• Reliable vehicle required; mileage reimbursed
• Base salary: $70,000 per year

What You Bring

• 4+ years in housekeeping, hospitality operations, or facilities, including at least 2 years supervising crews or managing service vendors
• Proven experience holding a third party to a standard — scorecards, chargebacks, corrective action, and ending a vendor relationship when needed
• A hotel, resort, or multi-unit short-term rental background where inspection was a formal process
• Comfort with property management software; Boom experience strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to drive between DC properties daily
• Weekend availability — Saturday and Sunday are our highest-volume turnover days
• Ability to lift 40 lbs, climb stairs repeatedly, use a step ladder, and be on your feet most of the day

Nice to Have

• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Experience building a QA or inspection program from the ground up
• DC market knowledge and familiarity with historic and row-house properties
