Senior HVAC Project Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior HVAC Project Engineer to manage, coordinate, and deliver HVAC works on construction projects. The successful candidate will lead technical execution from design review through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover, while ensuring that all works meet approved drawings, specifications, programme milestones, safety requirements, quality standards, and budget objectives.

The role requires strong site-based leadership, practical MEP coordination skills, and the ability to work effectively with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams. The successful candidate will be expected to identify risks early, resolve technical and interface issues promptly, and maintain clear records throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Engineering and Technical Delivery

The Senior HVAC Project Engineer will review tender, design, and construction documents, including drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and approved material schedules. The role holder will identify design gaps, constructability concerns, coordination conflicts, and non-compliance risks, and will prepare practical proposals for resolution in coordination with the Project Manager, consultants, and relevant stakeholders. The successful candidate will plan and supervise HVAC installations.

Site Coordination and Construction Management

The Senior HVAC Project Engineer will manage subcontractors and site teams, ensuring workmanship, quality and schedule are met.

Procurement, Cost, and Commercial Support

The Senior HVAC Project Engineer will support material and equipment procurement by reviewing technical submittals, material samples, shop drawings, vendor data, and compliance statements. They will provide technical input for variation proposals, claims, progress valuations, and subcontractor assessments, supported by clear site records and relevant documentation.

Testing, Commissioning, and Handover

The role holder will develop and implement testing and commissioning plans for HVAC systems in coordination with commissioning specialists, vendors, subcontractors, consultants, and the client.  They will support client training and resolve outstanding snags and defects through to final completion.

Candidate Profile

Area Minimum Requirement

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.

Experience: At least 8–12 years of relevant large scale construction-project experience. Those with less experience will be considered as Project Engineer

Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required. Familiarity with BIM/Revit, Navisworks, Primavera P6, and document-control systems is an advantage.

Language: Strong written and spoken English is required.
