Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Care Mechanical LLC is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install commercial HVAC equipment. We serve healthcare facilities, multifamily properties, and other commercial buildings.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality work, can troubleshoot independently, communicates clearly, and follows through on each service call.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), VRF/VRV systems, air-cooled chillers, split systems, heat pumps, packaged units, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), exhaust fans, and associated pumps and controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and service agreements.
• Install and repair refrigerant piping, ductwork, and related mechanical components.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Assist with equipment startup, commissioning, and warranty service.
• Complete accurate service reports documenting findings, work performed, parts used, and time on site.
• Communicate professionally with customers and explain equipment issues and recommended repairs.
• Coordinate with the service manager and dispatch regarding scheduling, parts, and job progress.
• Keep company vehicles, tools, and inventory organized and properly maintained.
• Follow OSHA requirements and company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC controls.
• EPA Section 608 certification appropriate for the equipment serviced.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites in NY, NJ, CT, and PA.
• Reliable attendance, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
• VRF/VRV and air-cooled chiller experience is a plus.

Compensation and Schedule

• Hourly compensation based on experience, paid weekly.
• Overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week.
• Paid travel to the job site.
