Senior HVAC Technician

About the Role

AirServe South Austin is looking for a skilled and motivated HVAC Technician who takes pride in their work, genuinely cares about customers, and wants to help build our service department the right way. You'll bring hands-on field service experience to ensure optimal operation of HVAC systems across diverse property types, while operating independently, communicating professionally, and growing into a leadership role as the company expands.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of HVAC/R equipment including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration systems, and appliances using technical schematics and diagnostic tools
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
• Lead installation projects involving HVAC design plans, schematic interpretation, welding, and mechanical assembly for new or upgraded systems
• Conduct field service operations including plumbing repairs, refrigeration servicing, and equipment replacement
• Maintain and repair complex machinery such as boilers and other property infrastructure components
• Deliver a high-quality customer experience on every visit and maintain clear communication with customers and office staff
• Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, system performance reports, and compliance records
• Identify repair and replacement opportunities and communicate findings professionally
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians as needed

This role is designed to grow over time into Lead Technician, Field Supervisor, and eventually Service Manager. You'll help set the quality standard for the entire service department.

Training and Support

We provide ongoing technical support, leadership development, operational guidance, and access to a strong training and resource network. You won't be left to figure things out on your own.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC service experience required
• Experience with HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and HVAC design plans
• Hands-on experience with field service operations including equipment repair, welding, and boiler maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical testing tools (e.g. ohmmeters) for troubleshooting HVAC electrical issues
• Strong mechanical knowledge including appliance repair and property maintenance
• Professional communication skills and ability to work independently
• Willingness to help develop and support a team
• EPA Certification required
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record required

Preferred but not required: Strong customer service and upsell ability, additional HVAC/R certifications, interest in growing into a leadership role.

Schedule

Full-time. Occasional weekend or emergency availability may be required.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
