Senior Identity Developer

Profectus is seeking an experienced Senior Identity Developer to support customer identity and access management within an Australian Government agency. You will build and improve the Azure AD B2C custom policies that control how members of the public and businesses register, sign in and access online services. The work covers custom policy development, user journey and policy cleanup, federation and REST integrations, and design documentation for delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and maintain Azure AD B2C custom policies (Identity Experience Framework), including technical profiles, orchestration steps, sub-journeys and claims transformations
• Consolidate and simplify existing user journeys and policy inheritance, and remove technical debt from the B2C tenant
• Build sign-up, sign-in, account linking, migration, step-up and SSO journeys
• Configure federation with external identity providers and REST API integrations for claims enrichment and validation
• Manage token issuance, claims mapping and Relying Party policies for consuming applications
• Troubleshoot authentication and authorisation issues across B2C, APIs and front-end applications
• Turn direction from Solution Architects into detailed designs, System Architecture Documents (SADs) and implementation guidance
• Maintain policy source in Git and support build, testing and deployment across environments
• Strengthen security controls and governance across the B2C tenant
• Work in an Agile team alongside architects, developers, testers and business stakeholders

Required Experience

• Hands-on Azure AD B2C custom policy development, not just user flows or app integration
• Trust Framework and Relying Party policy work, including technical profiles, claims mapping and reusable patterns
• OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, claims-based authorisation and API security
• Federation with external identity providers and REST API claims integration
• Cleanup, consolidation or uplift of an existing B2C tenant
• Git version control and branching strategies
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical teams and non-technical senior managers
• Working with business, technology, vendor and subject-matter expert teams

Desirable Experience

• Microsoft Entra External ID
• Integration with myID, RAM or other government digital identity services
• .NET, C#, React or TypeScript development alongside identity work
• Azure API Management policies
• Cloud certification, such as SC-300 or Azure developer certifications
• Knowledge of ITIL or TOGAF

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)
