Senior Import/Export Specialist

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Import/Export Specialist to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will help drive trade compliance execution across a global supply chain, with a strong focus on import/export controls, customs accuracy, and regulatory risk management. The position will partner closely with operations, legal, and cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen processes and support compliant movement of controlled technologies. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of U.S. export requirements, classification practices, and trade management systems. This is a highly analytical role that will also contribute to reporting, dashboards, and continuous improvement across compliance operations.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $100,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead ECCN determinations and maintain classifications for various technologies
• Validate customs documentation and review broker filings for accuracy
• Support export control reviews and license assessments as needed
• Design and improve export/import processes and compliance controls
• Create analytics and compliance dashboards utilizing Power BI
• Identify potential operational and regulatory risks in trade compliance
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to standardize global compliance processes

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of related experience in trade compliance, import/export regulations, or a similar role
• Experience in semiconductor or electronics sectors with controlled technology and global supply chains
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. export controls, ECCN classification, and compliance concepts
• Proficiency with SAP GTS and experience in trade management systems
• Strong analytical skills to assess large datasets and translate them into actionable insights
• Certifications such as LCB, CCS, or CES are preferred
• Advanced skills in Power BI and Excel functions including Power Query and Pivot Tables
