Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure / Roads Draftsman with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in roads, infrastructure and utility drafting. The ideal candidate should have strong Civil 3D skills and solid experience working with engineering consultants on Abu Dhabi infrastructure projects, including preparation of drawings and documentation for authority submissions and approvals.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing, developing, coordinating and reviewing detailed infrastructure drawings while supporting the engineering team and managing drafting activities within the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed road, infrastructure and utility drawings in accordance with project requirements, design standards and authority guidelines.
• Develop and maintain detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans, profiles, sections, typical details and construction drawings for roads and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare drawings for road networks, junctions, pavements, kerbs, footpaths, road markings and associated infrastructure.
• Prepare and coordinate utility drawings, including existing and proposed utility networks.
• Develop drawings for stormwater drainage, sewerage, water supply, irrigation and other utility services.
• Coordinate road and utility layouts with civil, structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines.
• Review design information, engineering sketches and calculations and convert them into accurate and detailed technical drawings.
• Prepare and revise drawings based on comments from Engineers, Project Managers, Clients and Authorities.
• Ensure all drawings comply with applicable project specifications, standards and Abu Dhabi authority requirements.
• Prepare drawings and documentation required for authority submissions and approvals in Abu Dhabi.
• Incorporate authority comments and coordinate necessary revisions for resubmission.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, layering, referencing, numbering and document control.
• Review drawings prepared by junior draftsmen and ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers and design teams to resolve drafting and technical coordination issues.
• Manage and distribute drafting tasks among the drafting team based on project priorities and deadlines.
• Monitor the progress and quality of drafting deliverables and ensure timely submission.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior and intermediate draftsmen.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide drafting-related technical input when required.
• Ensure that all drawings are issued in accordance with the company's quality and document control procedures.
• Support the engineering team during tender, design development, authority submission and construction documentation stages.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, roads and utilities drafting.
• Strong experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Previous experience working with an Engineering Consultancy / Design Consultant is mandatory.
• Proven experience in Abu Dhabi infrastructure and road projects.
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority requirements and submission procedures.
• Experience preparing drawings and documentation for authority approvals and submissions.
• Strong knowledge of road and infrastructure design drawings and utility coordination.
• Experience in preparing plan and profile drawings, cross-sections, longitudinal sections and detailed infrastructure layouts.
• Experience with road and utility networks and associated civil infrastructure.
• Previous experience in a team lead / senior drafting role with responsibility for managing drafting activities.
• Ability to review drawings and identify technical discrepancies and coordination issues.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, construction details and drafting standards.
• Candidates who can join immediately will be highly preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a technically strong and experienced Senior Infrastructure / Roads Draftsman who can independently handle complex road and utility drafting requirements, coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage junior drafting staff and deliver high-quality drawings suitable for Abu Dhabi authority submission and approval.
