Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Manager

Salary: £73,000 - £77,000 per annum + benefits + pension

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Manager to lead our technical operations, hybrid cloud platforms, and core network systems. You'll own the roadmap for our IT architecture, manage a team of engineers, and ensure our systems remain secure, fast, and resilient as we scale.

This role combines hands-on escalation support with strategic leadership. You will work closely with the Head of IT to modernise legacy systems, manage vendor relationships, and keep our hybrid infrastructure running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage, mentor, and build a high-performing team of systems, network, and cloud engineers.
• Drive our hybrid-cloud roadmap (AWS/Azure alongside on-prem systems), ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
• Serve as the final escalation point for major incidents, conducting root-cause analyses and applying long-term fixes.
• Enforce cyber security policies, manage patching cycles, and maintain ISO27001/Cyber Essentials standards across all endpoints and networks.
• Negotiate supplier contracts, manage hardware procurement, and optimize licensing costs.
• Lead the rollout of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automated provisioning to reduce manual overhead.

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5 years in IT infrastructure, with at least 2–3 years in a senior or managerial role.
• Solid background with Azure or AWS, alongside VMware ESXi/Hyper-V environments.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), core networking (BGP, VPNs, Firewalls, SAN/NAS), and Zero Trust frameworks.
• Hands-on experience working within ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs to business stakeholders without relying on jargon.
