Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to support our operations in Francophone Africa. You will support IT/ICT infrastructure which provides Cloud IaaS and SaaS services in the region.

The role focuses on virtualization, servers and IP networks as well as customer support. Taking into account multi-regional landscape of the company, this role will be in close collaboration with other regional teams aiming to exchange/share knowledge across the board.

This position is well suited for engineers currently working in ISPs, Telecom Operators, Mobile Networks, Data centres, or regional infrastructure providers, who want broader exposure, technical depth, and long-term growth toward cloud and distributed platforms.

Key Responsibilities

General Infrastructure & Operations

• Ensure infrastructure availability, resilience, scalability, and performance across multiple locations and regions

Network Infrastructure & Operations

• Operate IP-based networks (routing, switching, connectivity)
• Support routing and connectivity across sites
• Monitor and maintain network connectivity and performance across sites

Server Infrastructure & Operations

• Operate, and maintain multiple virtualized environments comprising of compute and storage
• Operate, and maintain server infrastructure
• Manage systems backups, restore and disaster recovery plans

Security & Network Protection

• Support cyber security controls, including firewalling, segmentation, and secure interconnections
• Work closely with security and operations teams to enforce cyber protection policies including servers and networks
• Assist in incident response, root cause analysis, and preventive improvements

Service Enablement & Integration

• Support implementation of customer projects and participate in technical design when required
• Support customer and internal service connectivity such as internet access, private connectivity, and inter-site networking
• Collaborate with data center, systems, and platform teams on network integration for virtualized and cloud-based environments
• Participate in network changes, expansions, and new service rollouts

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain clear technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, and operational procedures
• Contribute to standards, best practices, and automation initiatives
• Continuously improve network reliability, efficiency, and operational workflows

Required Skills & Experience

• Solid foundation in IP networking and routing principles
• Experience operating live production environments with high availability requirements
• Strong troubleshooting skills across routing, switching, server/OS layers
• Ability to work in structured operational environments with change management
