Senior Instructional Designer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Instructional Designer to take ownership of designing and developing high-quality learning content, from course planning through to finished training materials. You will work with our team and subject experts, who will validate technical content, while you lead the instructional design and content-development process.

Key responsibilities

Design complete courses, modules and learning journeys, with clear learning objectives and structured outlines

Develop participant manuals, workbooks, trainer guides and PowerPoint training materials

Create activities, case studies and exercises

Build assessments, quizzes, question banks and knowledge checks, aligned to learning objectives

Write e-learning scripts and storyboards

Publish and test e-learning content on our in-house LMS, and check completion and assessment tracking

Review and improve existing training content

Develop content in line with accreditor and partner syllabi and licensing requirements

Research topics using reliable sources, and work with subject experts for technical validation

Use AI and modern content tools to improve efficiency, while keeping content accurate

Manage multiple content projects and timelines, with version control and clear documentation

What we're looking for

5+ years in instructional design, L&D or training content development

Strong grounding in adult learning and instructional design frameworks (such as ADDIE or SAM, Bloom's taxonomy and Kirkpatrick)

Proven experience creating assessments and learning activities, for both instructor-led and digital learning

Excellent written and spoken English

Strong PowerPoint and content-development skills

Ability to simplify complex subjects for learners

Attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and own projects

Preferred: hands-on experience with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline or Rise, Adobe Captivate) and publishing SCORM-compliant packages to an LMS. Familiarity with xAPI is a plus.

Preferred: experience in professional certification or accredited training. A recognised credential in instructional design or talent development (such as ATD CPTD, the ATD Instructional Design certificate or any equivalent) is an advantage.

Selection process

Shortlisted candidates will complete a short practical instructional-design assignment (a few hours) with clear evaluation criteria.
