ABOUT THE ROLE:

Integrated Operations is the Rocket Lab organization responsible for integrated testing and operations starting with stack testing through pre-launch processing, launch, on-orbit operations, and mission disposal. Integrated Operations is also responsible for configuration, checkout, and operation of related facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. Testing and operations may be conducted remotely or on-site at propulsion test facilities (MTC, ATC, PTC), the Auckland Mission Control Centre (MCC), LC-1 (Mahia), LC-2 (Wallops Island, VA), or other designated locations. The Sr. Engineer is an expert role in Integrated Operations.

The Sr. Engineer will have a broad breadth and deep understanding of the various disciplines related to testing and operations. The Sr. Engineer will be highly skilled in multiple operational roles and will routinely lead testing and operations. The Sr. Engineer will routinely mentor and train other operators. The Sr. Engineer will take a leadership/ownership role in Integrated Operations projects and process/tool development efforts, particularly those that cross functional or organizational boundaries.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field
• 4+ years experience in engineering, test and/or operations and/or relevant field
• Ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings, and instructions
• Self-driven, motivated, and contagiously positive
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
• Careful work ethic with an eye for detail
• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

• 8+ years’ experience in engineering, test and/or operations
• 2+ years’ experience in leading time critical multi-disciplinary engineering operations or equivalent
• Experience working with launch vehicles or spacecraft including integration, testing, launch, and/or mission operations
• Experience with CAD systems
• Experience with Java, Python, or other object-oriented programming language
• Experience with LabVIEW and PLC development for data acquisition & real-time control

Wage dependent upon experience: NZD $96,000 - NZD $121,850
