What they need
Senior Patient Support Integration Analyst / Architect
A World Class Company
Osprey Life Sciences, LLC is a leading consulting and services firm specializing in providing comprehensive technology solutions for Life Sciences IT organizations. Our primary focus is on assisting these organizations in effectively and efficiently delivering solutions that support their business objectives and their mission to enhance human health and improve lives.
Position Overview
Osprey Life Sciences is seeking a Senior Patient Support Integration Analyst / Architect to support a pre-commercial specialty pharmaceutical organization preparing for its first product launch. This is a staff augmentation consulting engagement focused on building the integration layer supporting a new Patient Support Program (PSP).
The Patient Support Program includes a complex vendor ecosystem spanning hub services, specialty pharmacy, copay and affordability programs, electronic benefit verification (eBV), real-time prescription benefit, adherence and nurse educator services, and a field reimbursement CRM. These systems will connect through a central integration platform.
The patient journeys have already been defined and will serve as the authoritative description of how patients move through the program. This role will translate those journeys into working, tested, and documented integrations.
The successful candidate will verify the defined patient journeys against vendor capabilities and APIs, identify gaps and exception paths, decompose the journeys into detailed integration components, and create functional and technical specifications that a systems integration partner can build against.
The Boomi development will be performed by an external systems integration partner. This individual does not need to serve as the primary developer but must have sufficient integration-platform depth to direct and challenge the partner, review delivered solutions, identify technical issues, and ensure integrations meet business, operational, compliance, and validation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Journey Verification: Review defined patient journeys against vendor API documentation and system capabilities. Identify integration gaps, unavailable data elements, sequencing or timing issues, unsupported assumptions, and undefined exception or reversal paths. Drive identified gaps through resolution with business stakeholders and vendors.
- Integration Decomposition: Translate patient journeys into detailed integration components and maintain an integration point registry documenting triggers, source and target systems, direction, transport methods, payload schemas, exchanged data elements, PHI classification, sequencing dependencies, error/retry behavior, and ownership.
- Functional & Technical Specifications: Develop detailed integration specifications that enable the systems integration partner to build solutions without ambiguity. Lead design sessions, respond to build questions, review delivered processes against specifications, and ensure appropriate error handling, logging, retry logic, and idempotency.
- Vendor Integration Management: Review vendor API and interface documentation, conduct technical design sessions with vendor engineering teams, negotiate API and file specifications, and coordinate connectivity testing and go-live cutover activities.
- Systems Integration Partner Oversight: Direct and review the work of the implementation partner, evaluate deliverables against approved specifications, identify deficiencies, and drive technical issues to resolution.
- UAT Support: Partner with Mineralys IT and Patient Support teams, who will own and execute UAT. Develop traceability from patient journey steps through integration points and test scenarios. Create scenarios covering both happy paths and exceptions, including coverage denials, prior authorization rejections, copay ineligibility, partial fills, cancellations, reversals, and patient opt-outs.
- Defect Triage: Provide technical support during testing and determine whether failures originate within the integration layer, vendor endpoint, data, or underlying patient journey. Coordinate resolution with the appropriate vendor or implementation partner.
- Data Mapping: Lead data-element mapping and canonical-model activities across vendors with differing patient, prescriber, product, and transaction identifiers.
- Operational Readiness: Define monitoring, alerting, exception management, reprocessing procedures, and operational runbooks required to support the integrations after launch.
- Documentation & Validation Readiness: Maintain integration registries, specifications, traceability, and test artifacts as controlled living documents aligned with the deployed solution and maintained to the appropriate validation standard.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise integration, including at least 3 years within Life Sciences, specialty pharmacy, hub services, or Patient Support Programs.
- Direct experience integrating PSP or hub-service ecosystems. Candidates should understand workflows such as enrollment intake, benefit verification/eBV, prior authorization, copay card adjudication, specialty pharmacy triage, dispense and shipment status, and the movement of these events and data between parties.
- Demonstrated experience translating business processes or patient journey documentation into detailed integration specifications successfully implemented by a third party.
- Strong hands-on background with enterprise integration platforms, including process/orchestration design, data mapping and transformation, error handling and retry patterns, API management, environment promotion, and deployment practices.
- Experience with Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, webMethods, Workato, TIBCO, Azure Integration Services, or comparable enterprise integration technologies.
- Experience directing or managing a systems integration partner, implementation vendor, or offshore development team, including leading design sessions and reviewing technical deliverables against specifications.
- Strong integration test-design experience supporting business-led UAT, including requirements traceability, healthcare test-data design, exception-path testing, and cross-vendor defect triage.
- Strong API and integration knowledge, including REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, mTLS, webhooks, polling, idempotency, pagination, rate limits, SFTP, flat-file integrations, and X12 transactions.
- Experience working with HIPAA-regulated data and PHI, including secure transmission and storage, minimum-necessary principles, de-identification/limited data sets, and audit logging.
- Exceptional written communication and specification-development skills, with the ability to create documentation that implementation and testing teams can execute against independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Boomi AtomSphere experience, including process/subprocess design, maps and profiles, document caching, Boomi API Management, and multi-runtime environment strategies.
- Understanding of the contractual requirements governing healthcare data exchanges, including Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), Data Use Agreements (DUAs), and Data Transfer Agreements (DTAs), with the ability to evaluate whether proposed data flows and data elements fall within permitted use.
- Experience within GxP-validated environments, including GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, computer system validation deliverables such as URS, FRS, IQ/OQ/PQ, and formal change control.
- Experience aligning business UAT with formal qualification or validation testing where appropriate.
- Exposure to the Veeva ecosystem, including Network and Vault CRM, and master-data or identity-resolution technologies such as Reltio.
- Familiarity with compliance considerations associated with copay and patient-assistance programs and the separation of patient-level information from commercial and field-facing systems.
- Experience designing and implementing integrations in a pre-commercial or pre-launch environment, particularly supporting an organization's first commercial product launch.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate combines deep Patient Support Program knowledge with strong technical integration expertise. This person understands both the patient journey and what must happen technically between systems to make that journey work.
They are comfortable challenging vendors and implementation partners, identifying gaps before they become defects, producing highly detailed specifications, and working across business, IT, vendor, and implementation teams to move integrations from design through testing and launch.
This is not primarily a Boomi development role. It is a senior integration analysis and technical leadership role requiring enough hands-on platform experience to know what good looks like, recognize when a solution will not work, and ensure the implementation partner delivers against the intended design.
We offer an excellent compensation and benefits package with challenge and opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to a stimulating, fast-paced environment. Osprey is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
