C++ Software Developer | Data Reconciliation & Logistics

Are you a C++ developer who can turn complex data into a practical application that solves real business problems?

I’m working with a logistics business looking for a C++ developer to build a custom application that will help automate invoice reconciliation following a recent transport management system transition.

The business processes approximately 150,000 transactions per week and needs a reliable, user-friendly solution to compare data from different sources, identify discrepancies and make the reconciliation process more efficient.

This is a hands-on development project focused on building a practical tool for business users, including those without a technical background.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and develop a custom application using C++.
• Import and process data supplied through CSV and Excel files.
• Compare invoice and transaction data from two sources, matching records using route numbers, stock numbers and other relevant fields.
• Identify and flag discrepancies, missing records, duplicate entries and differences between datasets.
• Develop clear outputs and reports that allow users to investigate variances and resolve issues.
• Build a straightforward, user-friendly interface that makes the application accessible to non-technical users.
• Ensure the solution can reliably process high volumes of transaction data.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand the reconciliation process and translate their requirements into a working application.

What I’m looking for:

• Strong hands-on C++ development experience.
• Experience building applications or software tools that process and compare data.
• Experience working with structured data, CSV/Excel files and databases or SQL.
• Understanding of data matching, reconciliation, validation or discrepancy detection.
• Ability to handle missing records, duplicates and inconsistent data.
• Experience developing user interfaces or applications for business users.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn business requirements into a practical technical solution.

Experience with invoice processing, payment reconciliation, logistics, transportation or other high-volume transaction environments would be particularly valuable.
