Senior Interior Designer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Interior Designer with strong design expertise, technical knowledge, and project coordination skills to lead and deliver interior design projects from concept development through to implementation. You will work closely with the Development, Project, Architecture, QS, Contractors, and internal teams to ensure design concepts are translated into practical, high-quality spaces. The role will cover a variety of projects including show units, sales galleries, retail spaces, offices, food & beverage, and overseas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of interior design concepts, including mood boards, material palettes, design direction, and overall design development.
• Develop detailed space planning layouts, 3D visualisations, presentation boards, and design proposals.
• Prepare and review design documentation, including finishes schedules, detail drawings, and other relevant design documents.
• Coordinate closely with architects, QS, contractors, project teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure design intent is properly implemented.
• Conduct regular site visits, site measurements, coordination, and progress checks to monitor design execution.
• Review drawings, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and accessories to ensure they meet the intended design direction.
• Source and propose suitable materials, furniture, lighting, finishes, and accessories based on project requirements.
• Research and incorporate current design trends in contemporary, hospitality, and commercial interiors.
• Manage multiple design projects and ensure design deliverables and deadlines are met.
• Identify design and site coordination issues and propose practical design solutions where required.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in interior design, preferably with experience handling commercial, residential, hospitality, or related projects.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, space planning, technical detailing, and completed projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Experience with Enscape or Lumion; advanced rendering skills in 3ds Max and V-Ray are preferred.
• Strong aesthetic sense with a good understanding of colour, proportion, materials, detailing, and spatial planning.
• Strong project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently, take ownership of design deliverables, and coordinate effectively with different stakeholders.
• Proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented with a strong team mindset.
• Good communication skills; English or Malay required. Mandarin is an advantage.
