Senior IT Network Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or a similar role.
• Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Hands-on knowledge of LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, MPLS/IPLC, SD-WAN, and Internet connectivity.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, subnetting, routing, and switching.
• Experience with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls and network security technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, preferably with GCP, AWS, or Tencent Cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, particularly in resolving complex network and connectivity issues.
• Experience with network monitoring and performance management tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL, change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, especially when working with vendors, ISPs, and cross-functional IT teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and handle high-priority network incidents.
• Experience in network design, implementation, migration, and infrastructure upgrades is preferred.
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP or equivalent networking certification is preferred.
• Willingness to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and on-call support, when required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
2. Monitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security to ensure high reliability and minimal downtime.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity, routing, switching, latency, packet loss, and performance issues.
4. Manage and maintain LAN, WAN, Internet, MPLS/IPLC, SD-WAN, and VPN connectivity.
5. Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and static routing.
6. Implement and maintain VLANs, trunking, STP, link aggregation, QoS, and network segmentation.
7. Perform network configuration changes, upgrades, migrations, and optimization in accordance with change management and CAB processes.
8. Coordinate with Internet Service Providers, vendors, data centers, cloud providers, and other IT teams for network-related incidents and projects.
9. Lead investigation and resolution of critical network incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
10. Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, IP address allocation, configurations, circuit information, and technical procedures.
11. Implement network security controls, including firewall policies, access control, VPNs, network segmentation, and security best practices.
12. Support and manage cloud networking environments, including connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Tencent Cloud.
13. Conduct network capacity planning and recommend improvements based on traffic utilization, business requirements, and future growth.
14. Lead network-related projects, including network expansion, infrastructure upgrades, ISP migration, redundancy implementation, and disaster recovery.
15. Mentor and provide technical guidance to Network Engineers and junior IT staff.
16. Participate in 24/7 on-call or escalation support for critical network incidents when required.
17. Prepare incident reports, technical assessments, and root cause analysis (RCA) for major network issues.
18. Ensure network infrastructure complies with company policies, security standards, and operational requirements.
