🔎 We are looking for a Senior IT Release Manager

Are you experienced in coordinating critical software releases and managing complex Git workflows? Join a challenging project in the banking and financial services sector, where your technical expertise and decision-making will help ensure reliable production deployments.

📝 MAIN TASKS

• Plan and coordinate software releases, ensuring Jira tickets are aligned with delivery schedules and established release procedures.
• Manage Git branches, perform merges, and resolve complex conflicts under tight deadlines.
• Prepare and compile release packages, ensuring their integrity and readiness for deployment.
• Organize and lead three weekly release alignment meetings to review progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers.
• Prepare final delivery manifests and document the precise operational steps required for production deployment.
• Assess release risks and make timely decisions to postpone or abort deployments when system stability is compromised.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external teams regarding release status, content, and technical specifications.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks to improve release efficiency and reliability.

🧩 YOUR PROFILE AND SKILLS

• More than 9 years of relevant experience in IT, with a strong background in release management, deployment coordination, or related technical roles.
• Mandatory expert-level knowledge of Git architecture, branching strategies, and repository management.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex merge conflicts quickly and accurately.
• Experience preparing release packages and coordinating production deployment activities.
• Practical knowledge of Jira and Agile delivery processes.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple release workflows simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a rigorous approach to execution.
• Confidence in making critical decisions under pressure and managing production risks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings and explain technical release details to diverse stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Availability for a position based in Lisbon.
