Senior IT Requirements Analyst / Business Analyst | Ljubljana, Slovenia

Location: Ljubljana, Slovenia (Hybrid – approx. 50% onsite)

Contract: Freelance

About the opportunity

At HR Partners, we are looking for a Senior IT Requirements Analyst / Business Analyst to contribute to an international technology project supporting a European public-sector organisation.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in requirements engineering, business process analysis and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse, document and validate business and functional requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear IT requirements and specifications.
• Develop business process models, use cases and requirements documentation.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders.
• Manage requirements traceability, prioritisation and change requests.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimisation.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and develop business test scenarios.
• Collaborate with software development, architecture and QA teams.
• Provide guidance to junior analysts.
• Prepare documentation, presentations and reports in English.

Required qualifications and experience

• Minimum 7 years of professional experience in IT, including at least 4 years specifically in IT requirements analysis.
• Proven experience in requirements gathering, functional analysis and documentation.
• Experience with Business Process Modelling (BPM), use cases and requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of BABOK/IIBA methodologies or equivalent standards.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills.
• Experience supporting UAT activities.
• University degree in IT (minimum 4 years or recognised EQF Level 6 equivalent).
• Slovenian: native or bilingual proficiency (C2).
• English: advanced proficiency (C1).
• Availability to work onsite in Ljubljana approximately twice per week.
• Availability for a freelance engagement.
