Senior IT Sourcing & Efficiency Lead

Context

A leading European logistics and postal group is transforming its digital landscape. Within Group Digital, the Group Value Delivery Office owns the group’s Digital and IT investment and value delivery system: IT budget and portfolio governance, stage-gate investment decisions, efficiency management, strategic sourcing and partner governance, and performance and value assurance. The office works closely with the Group Chief Digital Officer, Group CFO and Finance, business leadership, the CIOs and CDOs of group entities, and Technical Capability Leads.

Missions

• Support the preparation and running of a multi-tower / strategic partner IT RFP: sourcing strategy, scope definition per tower, service and operating model, and commercial model.

• Build and consolidate the RFP dossier: requirements, service levels and KPIs, baseline volumes and costs, pricing templates, transition and exit requirements, and contractual input.

• Coordinate input from IT domain leads, architecture, security, Finance, Legal and Procurement, and keep the RFP plan and timeline on track.

• Set up and run the evaluation: evaluation criteria and weighting, supplier Q&A, clarification sessions, scoring, total cost of ownership and business case comparison.

• Prepare recommendations, negotiation input and decision material for executive governance.

• Identify and manage sourcing risks, including continuity, transition, dependency on suppliers and financial exposure.

• Contribute to the IT efficiency exercise by structuring the savings levers (e.g., supplier and contract rationalisation, licence optimisation, demand management, application and infrastructure rationalisation, location and sourcing strategy).

• Establish a credible IT cost baseline together with Finance and quantify savings per lever, with clear assumptions, owners and timing.

• Turn the efficiency ideas into an actionable plan with named owners, milestones and KPIs, and align it with the budget and the RFP outcomes.

• Set up tracking of realised savings against targets and report progress, deviations and corrective actions to the Director and executive stakeholders.

• Act as the day-to-day driver of the RFP and efficiency work towards IT leadership, Finance, Procurement and suppliers.

• Translate sourcing and cost analyses into clear options, trade-offs and recommendations for decision.

1. 10+ years of experience in IT sourcing, IT strategy, IT cost optimisation or IT vendor management, in a large organisation or consulting role
2. Proven track record leading or playing a key role in large, multi-tower IT outsourcing or strategic partner RFPs, from strategy through selection and negotiation
3. Demonstrated experience delivering IT cost-reduction or efficiency programmes with measurable, tracked results
4. Strong knowledge of IT service towers (application development and maintenance, infrastructure and cloud, workplace, service desk) and related commercial and pricing models
5. Strong financial and analytical skills: cost baselining, TCO, business cases and savings tracking; advanced Excel
6. Knowledge of contract structures, SLAs, governance models, transition and exit management
7. Master’s degree or equivalent experience; sourcing, procurement or IT financial management certifications (e.g., CIPS, IAOP COP, FinOps, ITIL) are an advantage
8. Fluent English and good knowledge of at least one of the local languages (Dutch or French)
9. Senior presence; able to challenge and influence IT, Finance and business stakeholders and suppliers
10. Structured, results-driven and hands-on; able to deliver under tight timelines
11. Strong negotiation, facilitation and executive communication skills
12. High integrity and discretion in handling confidential commercial information
