Senior Java 6 / Swing Developer

About the opportunity 

• We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a team responsible for the maintenance and evolution of a legacy enterprise application.

  The ideal candidate is comfortable working with older Java technologies and is genuinely interested in maintaining and enhancing an established application while ensuring its stability and reliability.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and enhance an existing legacy Java application.

  • Develop and implement new functionalities while preserving application stability.

  • Analyze existing code and identify opportunities for improvements and bug fixes.

  • Work extensively with Java 6, JavaFX and Swing.

  • Perform technical analysis and contribute to solution design and documentation.

  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Participate in testing, debugging and production support.

  • Ensure code quality, maintainability and reliability of the existing application.

• Profile

  • 10+ years of experience in Java development.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 6 or other legacy Java versions.

  • Proven experience with Swing and JavaFX.

  • Comfortable working on legacy applications and technologies.

  • Good understanding of object-oriented programming and Java development principles.

  • Experience in application maintenance, debugging and production support.

  • Autonomous, pragmatic and willing to work on an older technology stack by choice.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
