About the Role

Shoolin Consultancy partners with leading enterprises across Australia to deliver large-scale digital transformation programs, helping organisations modernise legacy platforms and adopt cloud-native, API-led architectures.

We are seeking a Senior Java Integration Developer with MuleSoft experience to join our growing Integration & Microservices practice, working on enterprise-grade integration and API platforms across complex environments.

You will collaborate with architects, developers, product teams, and business stakeholders to design and deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing integration solutions that connect applications and modernise legacy environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot
• Develop and support MuleSoft integration solutions, APIs, and workflows
• Build scalable and secure integrations across complex enterprise systems
• Contribute to API-led integration and microservices architectures
• Develop API specifications, models, and supporting documentation
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, code reviews, and troubleshooting
• Work with architects and technical teams on solution design and integration patterns
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps-driven delivery
• Integrate applications across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments
• Support legacy modernisation and migration to API-led and cloud-native architectures

Core Technical Skills

• Strong commercial experience with Java 8+ and Spring/Spring Boot
• Hands-on REST API development
• MuleSoft / Anypoint Platform development and integration experience
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture
• Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI and Postman
• Knowledge of API security, governance, and best practices
• Understanding of enterprise integration patterns

Additional Experience (Highly Valued)

• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS and/or Azure
• SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Event-driven and serverless architectures
• CI/CD and DevOps practices
• API management platforms and enterprise middleware
• Messaging technologies and distributed systems
• Exposure to Node.js, React.js, or other modern technologies

Pay: $112,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
