Senior Java Developer — Backend (FinTech / Payments)

About the role

• This is a full-time permanent employment opportunity with our company.
• You will be on our company’s payroll and receive the applicable salary and employment benefits as per company policy.
• You will be dedicated to our client’s FinTech/Payments project and work closely with the client’s project team.
• This is not a short-term contract, freelance, or project-based temporary position.
• The client project is part of your regular employment, so your employment is not limited to the duration of a specific task or assignment.
• Compensation: 12–15 LPA, depending on interview performance, experience, and overall fit.

What you'll do

• Own backend microservices end-to-end — design, build, deploy, and support in production
• Build and evolve REST APIs consumed by internal teams and external partners
• Work on correctness-critical flows: payments, reconciliation, ledgers, idempotency
• Debug real production issues, not just ship features
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and production support
• Work closely with product, QA, and business teams

Must have

• 5+ years hands-on Java and Spring Boot
• Microservices and REST API design in production
• Solid SQL — able to read a query plan and fix a slow query
• Kafka or RabbitMQ in production, with an understanding of ordering and failure handling
• Experience debugging production issues you personally owned

Good to have

• Banking / FinTech / BFSI / payments / lending domain experience
• Redis or another caching layer
• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS, Azure or GCP
• Spring Cloud — gateway, config, service discovery, Resilience4jNote: This role is based in Chennai. Candidates must be willing to relocate or already be in Chennai.

Pay: ₹1,800,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
