The Role: Senior Java Developer + Spark

📍 Location: Lisbon

🏢🏠 Work Model: hybrid - 2/3 days a week in the office

💰🏦 Sector: Financial Services

🗣️ Languages: English (C1)

✅ Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there

🧑 Mandatory Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)

• +8 years of experience in Java/J2EE development , including Java/J2EE 9.
• At least 1 year of experience in Apache Spark development , with hands-on experience in Spark.
• Experience with Spring / Spring MVC and Spring Boot .
• Experience with SQL , including Transactional SQL / Spark SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle ExaCC, and SQL Server.
• Strong experience with Docker & Kubernetes and Cloud-native applications.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling , including Maven, GitLab, ArgoCD, and Liquibase.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Argo Workflow .
• Experience with GitHub Copilot Agents .
• French B2

Responsibilities:

• Work as a Java Developer , contributing to the conception and development of Data Processing applications executed in Batch mode using Spark.
• Develop solutions using Java/J2EE and Apache Spark .
• Design solutions using proven patterns, with awareness of anti-patterns and performance tuning .
• Work with SQL, relational databases, Docker/Kubernetes, object storage such as S3, and CI/CD tooling .
