Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with hands-on Python development experience to support a BFSI application modernization and migration project. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development, along with practical Python skills to support the gradual transition of existing Java applications and business logic to Python.

Initially, the candidate will spend approximately 70% of their time working on Java applications, enhancements, and maintenance, while dedicating 30% to Python development and migration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• Analyze existing Java applications, business logic, and workflows to support the transition to Python.
• Develop and maintain Python components and translate Java-based business logic into Python.
• Support application modernization, code migration, and integration activities.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise application integrations.
• Work with relational databases, SQL queries, and data-processing workflows.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, code reviews, and performance optimization.
• Ensure functional consistency, data integrity, security, and reliability during the migration process.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Follow secure coding standards and applicable BFSI compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• Practical experience in Python development and scripting.
• Ability to understand Java code and implement equivalent business logic in Python.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, JSON, and system integrations.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Knowledge of unit testing, debugging, Git, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the BFSI domain, including banking, payments, lending, or financial services.
• Exposure to Java-to-Python migration, application modernization, or legacy transformation projects.
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and enterprise application architecture.
• Understanding of financial transaction processing, data security, and regulatory requirements.
