Senior Java Full Stack Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer with a minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience to join our development team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining secure, scalable and high-performance enterprise applications. The role requires strong hands-on experience across both backend and frontend development, with particular expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.

The candidate will work throughout the full software development lifecycle and collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise applications using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
• Develop scalable backend services using Spring Framework, Spring MVC and Microservices architecture.
• Design, develop and integrate secure RESTful APIs and web services.
• Develop responsive front-end applications using Angular or React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Participate in application architecture and technical design activities.
• Develop reusable, maintainable and high-quality software components.
• Work with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server.
• Use Hibernate/JPA for database integration and data-access development.
• Implement appropriate application security and authentication mechanisms.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging and performance optimisation.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure development standards and best practices are followed.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Support application builds, releases and deployments using CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• Maintain technical documentation relating to application design, APIs and deployment.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers.
• Collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years of professional software development experience is mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (mandatory).
• Extensive commercial development experience using Java/J2EE.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Strong experience designing and developing Microservices.
• Extensive experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
• Strong front-end development experience with Angular or React.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA and relational databases.
• Strong SQL and database-design knowledge.
• Experience with Git and Maven/Gradle.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito or similar testing frameworks.
• Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD processes.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, application security and coding best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and team-working skills.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for complex development activities.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
