Our Client is a custom software development firm in the US. The teams of senior engineers has built production web applications, mobile applications, and systems integrations for established and growing businesses.

Services: custom software development, data integration and systems architecture, AI-enabled software solutions, technical discovery and product definition.

Project details

We are seeking a senior full-stack engineer who ships production software across React/Next.js, Python/Django, and Java, and who uses AI coding agents such as Claude as a primary part of daily development. The right candidate treats AI tooling as a core skill on par with any language in the stack: directing agents, reviewing their output critically, and delivering faster without sacrificing quality.

Responsibilities

This person works independently, owns features end to end, and communicates clearly with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. This person should also be comfortable working across multiple projects, understanding existing code, and performing maintenance work on projects with little historical understanding of how the project started.

Skills

Required

• 7+ years of professional software development, with at least 3 in a senior or lead capacity
• Production experience with React (Next.js preferred), Python (Django preferred), and Java (Kotlin preferred)
• Demonstrated, current daily use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot agent mode, or similar) in real project work, beyond experimentation
• Ability to review, test, and correct AI-generated code and to recognize when it is wrong
• Experience with relational databases, REST APIs, and cloud deployment (AWS preferred)
• Strong written communication; comfortable working asynchronously
• Consulting or client-facing delivery experience

Preferred / Useful

• Elixir experience would be useful for a single, small ongoing maintenance project
• CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code familiarity
• Experience building applications that integrate LLM APIs
• Note required, but please note any .net and php experience
