Our challen ge

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Java MCP Developer to help build the next generation of AI-enabled enterprise capabilities using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This role will focus on developing secure, scalable, and production-ready MCP Servers that expose enterprise business capabilities, APIs, and data services to AI agents, copilots, and intelligent automation platforms.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, OpenShift, API Integration, and Security with a strong interest in AI enablement and agent-based architectures.

Additional Informat ion

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jacksonville, FL is $110k - $115k/year & benefits (see below

The Role

Responsibilit ies:

• Work closely with line of business and architects to provide implementation solutions to protect various software applications.
• Be able to create a prototype to prove the design.
• Preparing UML diagrams to describe the current state of the application in terms of these parameters and also describes the future state.
• At every step the Lead Engineer reviews project artifacts to ensure that the application suites interests are adequately addressed.
• This includes supervising initiatives in parallel from a Software development standpoint to ensure applications are engaged in correct processes resulting in stable, quality deliverables. Develops, enhances, tests, supports, maintains and debugs software applications that support business units or support functions.
• A senior member of the technical team responsible for assisting senior business leaders and management.
• May provide strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and/or provide a competitive advantage to the organization.
• Leads or has responsibility for estimation of effort for software application for one or more programmers.
• Coordinates collaboration with external programming teams to deliver software on time and within budget.
• Provides feedback and technical guidance to project managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives.

Requirements:

• Core Java Engineering
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in: Java 17+ (Java 21 preferred), Spring Boot, REST API development, Microservices architecture, Maven/Gradle, JUnit/Mockito, JSON/XML processing
• MCP & AI Enablement, Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts: MCP Servers, MCP Clients, Tools, Resources, Prompts, Tool discovery and invocation.
• Experience designing API-based integrations for AI or agent-driven solutions.
• Familiarity with AI Agent architectures and LLM integrations.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with MCP Java SDK or Spring AI.
• Experience building AI Agent integrations.
• Knowledge of Knowledge Graphs and Neo4j.
• Experience with Kafka, IBM MQ, or enterprise event-driven platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure AI Foundry, Copilot ecosystems, or Generative AI frameworks.
• Wealth Management, Banking, Client Onboarding, AML/KYC, or Financial Services domain experience.
