Senior Java Software Engineer

Our client, a leading global banking group, is hiring a Senior Java Developer to join its front-office technology division. You'll work on the low-latency trading platforms that support global markets businesses, writing production code daily, shaping architecture, and partnering with traders, quants, and risk teams across regions.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain low-latency, high-throughput Java services for trading and order flow
• Work on core components such as OMS, execution and routing, risk engines, and market data
• Profile and tune performance, including JVM, GC, and network paths
• Contribute to resilient, well-controlled systems that meet regulatory and audit standards
• Own production reliability and mentor junior and mid-level engineers

Requirements

• Strong commercial Java (11+), including concurrency and JVM internals
• Experience building low-latency systems in trading or capital markets (equities, futures, options, FX, fixed income, or crypto)
• Experience with event-driven messaging (Kafka, Aeron, Chronicle Queue, or similar)
• A quality-focused approach to testing, CI/CD, and delivery
