Senior Java Software Engineer

You will lead the design and continuous improvement of core technology frameworks supporting essential risk management platforms. The role involves managing complex engineering initiatives from conception through delivery, establishing technical best practices, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver effective, reliable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and write clean, maintainable, well-tested Java code, and lead debugging and root-cause analysis of complex framework and integration issues.
• Own and improve CI/CD automation using Jenkins and containerized deployment with Docker, Harness, and Rancher, focusing on reliability, speed and repeatability.
• Lead code reviews, uphold engineering standards and best practices
• Act as a technical point of contact for testing teams, troubleshooting complex automation challenges and addressing underlying issues to improve reliability and prevent recurring problems.

Technical Skills:

• Strong Java development skills, with expertise in object-oriented principles, concurrent programming, application performance optimisation and building robust solutions using Spring Boot.
• Experience working with distributed data processing and messaging technologies, including Kafka, with a focus on building scalable, resilient and fault-tolerant systems.
• Strong experience in API development, SQL databases, and data storage.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, and an understanding of cloud-based design, security and cost considerations.
• Experience with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, Git and automated testing, with a focus on streamlining deployments and improving release efficiency.
