Senior JavaScript Developer – Microsoft 365 & Power Platform

About the role

We are looking for a strong JavaScript Developer to build, customise and integrate business applications across a Microsoft 365 environment. This is primarily a JavaScript/TypeScript development role. We are looking for someone with strong hands-on software development experience who can write clean, scalable JavaScript code, work with APIs and modern web technologies, and build integrations across Microsoft 365. Experience with Power Platform is useful but secondary. You do not need to be a Power Platform specialist. We are primarily looking for a developer who is confident with JavaScript and can use Microsoft technologies as part of broader business solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production-quality JavaScript and TypeScript applications
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable and well-structured code
• Build client-side functionality using JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS
• Develop custom business functionality and integrations
• Work with asynchronous programming, events, promises and modern JavaScript patterns
• Debug, troubleshoot and optimise existing applications
• Build and maintain integrations using REST APIs
• Work with JSON, HTTP requests, authentication and API endpoints
• Integrate business applications with Microsoft 365 and external systems
• Work with Microsoft Graph API

About you

• Strong commercial JavaScript development experience
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, DOM, JavaScript events, asynchronous programming, promises/async-await, JSON and REST APIs
• Experience building or maintaining web applications and business systems
• Experience integrating applications using APIs
• Experience with Git or another version-control system
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical work
• Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable: Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Graph API, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Azure, Microsoft APIs
