H.M. Raitt & Sons are a long-standing, fourth-generation family-owned Main Contractor undertaking high-end renovation, restoration and new-build projects throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.
We pride ourselves on working closely with clients, designers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality workmanship across all our projects. We have always understood that it is our people who make our business, and we are looking for an experienced Senior Joiner to join our team.
We are seeking a time-served and highly experienced joiner who can take a leading role on site, work independently and as part of a team, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the high standards expected by our clients.
The successful candidate will have extensive joinery experience, strong organisational skills and the confidence to take responsibility for their work while supporting and guiding other members of the team, including apprentices.
Basic hand tools are required, but we will provide power tools and all other necessary equipment.
The ideal candidate must:
- Be a time-served joiner with extensive experience in the trade.
- Have the ability to lead and organise joinery works on site, taking responsibility for the quality and progress of work.
- Be confident reading and interpreting architectural, structural and other professional drawings and plans.
- Be able to work independently using their own initiative, as well as effectively as part of a wider site team.
- Have strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, attention to detail, health and safety, and housekeeping.
- Communicate effectively with site managers, colleagues, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Be able to adapt calmly and positively to changing site requirements and priorities.
- Be willing to mentor apprentices, share knowledge and support the development of the next generation of tradespeople.
- Have a full driving licence (preferred).
Previous experience in a senior or supervisory joinery role would be advantageous.

Salary: Competitive, with pay rates and other benefits dependent on experience and suitability for the role.
Benefits:

- Opportunity to join the Company Healthcare System.
- Ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Company events.
- 29 days' annual leave, including bank holidays.
