Senior Kennel Attendant

About the role

We are growing our team and seeking a highly reliable, experienced, and animal-focused Senior Kennel Attendant to join our team at the Brisbane Pet Motel in Boondall, QLD. With a casual position of 28-38 hours a week available to start and the ability to go into full time for the right candidate available, this role is ideal for someone who is confident working independently, supporting junior staff, and taking a proactive role in the day-to-day care and management of boarding pets.

You will play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, cleanliness, and customer care while supporting the smooth operation of the facility.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing high-quality daily care for boarding pets, including feeding, exercising, grooming, and maintaining clean and comfortable living areas
• Closely monitoring animal behaviour, wellbeing, and health, and escalating or responding to concerns appropriately
• Assisting with or overseeing kennel routines to ensure procedures are followed consistently
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced staff where required
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic, and welcoming environment across all kennel facilities
• Assisting with boarding administration, including check-ins, check-outs, and communication with pet owners
• Ensuring compliance with animal welfare standards, workplace safety requirements, and company policies

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience working with animals, ideally in a boarding, veterinary, grooming, or similar professional environment
• Confidence handling animals of all sizes and temperaments
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to professionally liaise with pet owners and team members
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
• A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to high standards of care. We are a Fear Free bases facility.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays
• Physical fitness, including the ability to lift up to 20kg and remain active throughout shifts
• Eligibility to work in Australia
