We’re looking for an experienced, reliable and hardworking Senior Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team at Cafe Kisa.

This role would suit someone with previous kitchen experience who is confident working in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on a little more responsibility within the team.

You’ll work closely with our Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager, helping to keep service running smoothly while maintaining the high standards of food quality, cleanliness and organisation we expect.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing ingredients and completing daily kitchen prep
• Preparing and cooking dishes in line with Cafe Kisa recipes and presentation standards
• Working confidently across kitchen sections during service
• Supporting the Kitchen Manager and Assistant Kitchen Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Helping organise and prioritise prep ahead of busy services
• Supporting and guiding less experienced kitchen team members
• Ensuring food is prepared consistently, efficiently and to a high standard
• Monitoring stock levels and communicating shortages to the senior kitchen team
• Receiving and correctly storing deliveries
• Following food safety, allergen and hygiene procedures at all times
• Maintaining excellent standards of kitchen cleanliness and organisation
• Completing opening, closing and cleaning procedures
• Helping ensure equipment is cleaned and looked after correctly
• Supporting smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house teams
• Taking responsibility and helping lead by example when senior kitchen management are occupied

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working in a busy kitchen
• Is confident with food preparation and kitchen service
• Is organised and able to prioritise during busy periods
• Works quickly without compromising quality or cleanliness
• Has a positive, hands-on attitude
• Is reliable and punctual
• Communicates well with the rest of the team
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards
• Is comfortable helping and guiding junior members of the kitchen team
• Can take direction while also using their own initiative
• Is flexible to work a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts

Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Senior Kitchen Assistant, Commis Chef or similar kitchen role would be ideal.
