Job Purpose

Responsible for organization and function of Piping Design Modeling and layout in the Piping discipline of the engineering department.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain manpower and other resources required for smooth operation of piping Design section.
• Complete the projects within allocated budget and schedule with required quality.
• Identification and planning of training requirements for assigned disciplines employees.
• Ensuring design work undertaken is accordance with Departmental Work Instructions, Procedures and Standards.
• Ensuring that all activities are in line with OHS & E requirements.
• Liaison with Engineer in order to assure that all technical/engineering requirements are met.
• Liaison with Classification Societies.
• Maintaining the discipline of the department and yard.
• Prepare and review design drawings and documents.
• Executing duties of engineer according to qualification if required.
• Monitor and appraise subordinates based on performance management and assessment system.

Education

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering

Experience

• 10+ years relevant experience in shipyard, offshore Sub-Stations / Oil & Gas industry in design office.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Lead Piping Designer.
• Experience with performing FEED design, FEED Verification & Detail Engineering for Piping Discipline., experience in design codes (like ASME, DIN, NORSOK), well versed with various international material standards as well as a good understanding of ABS, DNV, API, ASME and other related industry regulations and standards.

Key Competencies

• Broad technical knowledge for piping design on basic, detail and production stages for marine and offshore constructions etc.
• Familiarity with 3D modelling software.
• Broad technical knowledge of piping stress analysis.
• Strong background with resolution of design and layout issues during projects planning and execution phases.
