JEM GLOBAL
Senior Licensing Manager
Woodbridge, NJ 07095
Position Summary
JEM Global is a global manufacturer and distributor of digital lifestyle and consumer electronics accessories, operating as an official licensee for iconic brands including Monster®, BLACK+DECKER™, Energizer® Connect, Armor All™, STP®, Barbasol®, Pure Silk®, AIWA, and Xtreme™. The Senior Licensing Manager owns end-to-end management of JEM's inbound brand licensing portfolio — serving as the primary point of contact for licensor partners, safeguarding contractual and brand compliance across all product lines, and driving strategic growth within licensed categories.
Key Responsibilities
Licensor Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for licensor partners (Monster, BLACK+DECKER, Energizer Connect, Armor All, STP, Barbasol, Pure Silk, AIWA, Xtreme, and future brand partners), building trusted relationships that support long-term renewals and category expansion.
- Lead quarterly business reviews with licensors, presenting sales performance, marketing initiatives, and product roadmap plans, and act as the internal escalation point for licensor concerns.
Contract & Agreement Management
- Negotiate new licensing agreements and renewals — royalty rates, minimum guarantees, territory rights, category scope, and term length — in partnership with Legal and Finance.
- Track all license agreement obligations and key dates (renewal windows, termination notices, exclusivity periods), maintaining a master licensing tracker for every brand partner.
Brand Compliance & Product Approvals
- Manage the end-to-end product approval process, submitting new SKUs, packaging, and marketing materials to licensors for review and sign-off ahead of go-to-market timelines.
- Ensure all licensed products, packaging, and retail/marketing materials adhere to brand style guides and quality standards, partnering with Product Development and Marketing early in the cycle.
Royalty Reporting & Financial Oversight
- Own quarterly/monthly royalty reporting and reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely calculations and payments to licensors.
- Partner with Finance to forecast royalty obligations, track minimum-guarantee attainment, flag shortfall risk, and support internal or licensor-initiated audits.
Category & Portfolio Strategy
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for new product categories, brand extensions, or additional licensor partnerships aligned with JEM's consumer electronics accessories business.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to align licensed product launches with retailer programs, seasonal resets, and promotional calendars, while monitoring category and competitive trends.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the internal licensing subject-matter expert across Product Development, Legal, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA a plus.
- 7+ years in brand licensing, brand management, or related contract/vendor management roles; consumer electronics, CPG, or hardgoods experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing licensing agreements end-to-end, including negotiation, compliance, and royalty administration.
- Strong understanding of licensing contract terms, including royalty structures, minimum guarantees, exclusivity, and territory rights.
- Excellent relationship-management and negotiation skills, with experience interfacing directly with brand/licensor partners.
- Financial acumen, including comfort with royalty forecasting, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple licensor relationships and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with contract management or royalty tracking systems a plus; ability to travel occasionally for licensor meetings, trade shows, or retail reviews.
Key Competencies
- Relationship Building & Influence — earns trust with external licensor partners and internal stakeholders alike.
- Commercial & Financial Acumen — connects contract terms to P&L impact and royalty economics.
- Attention to Detail — safeguards brand compliance across hundreds of SKUs and marketing touchpoints.
- Project Management — juggles concurrent approval cycles, renewals, and reporting deadlines without dropping details.
