This role has a strong focus on professional indemnity matters, acting for lawyers, accountants, engineers, and health professionals facing disciplinary proceedings, government investigations, and prosecutions.
Because of the nature of this work and its direct impact on careers and livelihoods, high emotional intelligence and empathy are critical. You will manage files from inception through to settlement, appearing at all levels of New Zealand’s court system, specialist tribunals, and mediations.

- Tailored Caseload: Your work will be specifically aligned with your experience level and professional interests.
- Modern Systems: Access to high-tech tools and modern systems that make remote work seamless and highly efficient.
- Exceptional Mentorship: Work directly with highly collegial, kind, and supportive Partners who are exceptional litigators in their own right.
Duties

- Manage high-value insurance litigation files, specifically professional indemnity and statutory/complex general liability cases.
- Represent professionals in high-stakes disciplinary proceedings and government investigations.
- Travel periodically for court appearances, client meetings, and team connection days.
- Advise clients with high emotional intelligence and sharp advocacy.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years PQE with a strong background in general commercial and civil litigation (prior insurance litigation experience is a bonus, but not essential).
- A proven track record of running complex files from opening through to settlement.
- Solid courtroom appearance experience and sharp advocacy skills.
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and empathy to navigate sensitive client matters.
- Outstanding communication skills, which are particularly vital for remote collaboration.
