As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Corporate Controller to lead our accounting function from our Boca Raton corporate office.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Controller is the senior accounting leader for the organization, reporting directly to the CEO and COO. This role owns the accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial reporting across a 45+ community portfolio. You'll lead the accounting team, strengthen controls and close processes, and give executive leadership, owners and lenders the clear financial information they need to make decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Lead, develop and manage the accounting team, including staff accountants, AP/AR and payroll support
▪ Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close for all communities and entities, producing accurate consolidated and community-level financial statements
▪ Prepare and present financial results, variance analysis and KPIs (occupancy, RevPOR, labor cost, EBITDAR, NOI) to the CEO, COO, ownership and lenders
▪ Oversee rent roll reconciliation, resident billing, revenue recognition and accounts receivable across the portfolio
▪ Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with regional and community operators
▪ Manage accounting for acquisitions, dispositions and change of ownership (CHOW) transitions, including opening balances, entity setup and transition cut-offs
▪ Ensure compliance with debt covenants, lender and HUD/agency reporting, and management agreement requirements
▪ Coordinate annual audits, tax filings and state regulatory financial reporting with outside CPAs
▪ Design, document and enforce internal controls, accounting policies and standardized procedures across all communities
▪ Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, intercompany activity and cash flow forecasting
▪ Drive system improvements and automation within the accounting platform
QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
▪ 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
▪ Senior living, assisted living, healthcare or multi-site real estate accounting experience required
▪ Proven experience managing multi-entity consolidations for a large, multi-state portfolio
▪ Strong knowledge of internal controls, lender reporting and audit management
▪ Experience with acquisitions, CHOW transitions or portfolio growth is a significant plus
▪ Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting and property management systems
▪ A hands-on leader who builds strong teams, communicates clearly with executives and non-financial operators, and thrives in a fast-paced growth environment
WHAT WE OFFER
▪ Base salary of $150,000 – $250,000, based on experience
▪ Performance-based bonus opportunities
▪ Comprehensive benefits package
▪ Paid time off
▪ Direct partnership with the CEO and COO and a visible, high-impact seat at the leadership table
▪ The chance to shape the finance function of a growing senior living organization
