Senior Low-Latency C++ Developer

We’re hiring a highly experienced C++ Developer to build and improve high-performance systems processing real-time market data.

This is a senior, hands-on engineering opportunity focused on complex, data-intensive systems where latency, throughput, reliability and stability are critical. You’ll work within an international technology environment, influence technical direction and help improve systems operating under demanding real-time conditions.

Financial markets experience would be useful, but it is not essential. We are equally interested in senior C++ engineers from telecommunications, gaming, embedded systems, infrastructure, logistics or other performance-critical environments.

The opportunity

You’ll contribute to the design and development of low-latency C++ systems supporting real-time data processing. The position combines deep technical work with architectural input, performance optimisation and collaboration across geographically distributed teams.

As a senior engineer, you’ll also help guide technical decisions, support less-experienced developers and promote strong engineering standards across the team.

Your responsibilities will include

• Designing and developing high-performance, low-latency systems in C++.
• Building multithreaded and concurrent components for real-time data processing.
• Profiling, tuning and optimising systems for latency, throughput and resource efficiency.
• Working with real-time data feeds, data storage and complex production environments.
• Improving the reliability, maintainability and stability of existing systems.
• Collaborating with engineers, product stakeholders and other technical teams.
• Contributing to architecture discussions, code reviews and technical standards.
• Applying effective testing, secure coding and risk-management practices.
• Mentoring engineers and helping guide the team’s technical direction.

What you’ll bring

• Extensive commercial C++ development experience.
• Strong experience building low-latency or performance-critical systems.
• In-depth knowledge of multithreading, concurrency and memory management.
• Practical experience with performance profiling, tuning and optimisation.
• Experience working with SQL or KDB database technologies.
• A strong understanding of software design patterns and scalable system architecture.
• The ability to analyse complex technical problems and develop reliable solutions.
• Confidence working independently and influencing technical decisions at a senior level.

Additional experience that would be valuable

• Financial markets, electronic trading or algorithmic trading systems.
• Real-time market data platforms or high-volume data feeds.
• Market data protocols such as ITCH, FAST or FIX.
• Python, Shell or another scripting language.
• Experience supporting distributed, globally deployed systems.
• Direct investment banking or trading experience is not required if you have strong low-latency C++ expertise from another technically demanding industry.
