Senior M365 Infrastructure Engineer

Profectus is seeking an experienced Senior M365 Specialist Infrastructure Engineer to support Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms within an Australian Government agency. You will administer, support and improve Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Purview and Copilot as part of a team delivering Level 2 and Level 3 support. The work covers platform administration, complex issue resolution, security and compliance controls, and delivery of new Microsoft 365 capabilities into business as usual.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, support and optimise Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, SharePoint Online, Purview and Copilot
• Investigate and resolve complex SharePoint and Microsoft 365 technical issues, and provide solution options to stakeholders
• Implement, configure and validate Microsoft 365 services to meet business, security and governance requirements
• Implement and maintain Purview controls, including information protection, retention, audit, data loss prevention and reporting
• Monitor platform performance, service health and the Microsoft 365 Message Centre, and assess the impact of upcoming changes, releases and deprecations
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation for Microsoft 365 administration
• Perform incident, problem, change, release and knowledge management activities in line with service management processes
• Produce solution designs, implementation plans, and configuration, testing and validation documentation
• Develop and maintain operational procedures, support guides and knowledge base articles
• Support the transition of new Microsoft 365 capabilities into business as usual support
• Identify and implement service improvements across reliability, security, supportability and user experience
• Transfer skills and knowledge to staff and liaise with project teams, vendors and other ICT teams

Required Experience

• Senior level experience administering Microsoft 365 in a large organisation
• Hands-on administration and governance of SharePoint Online and SharePoint on-premises
• Configuration of Microsoft Teams, including policies and voice
• Microsoft Purview experience across sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, audit and insider risk
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills for Microsoft 365 administration
• Experience monitoring service capacity and performance and resolving shortfalls
• Experience designing Microsoft 365 solutions and assessing design options, trade-offs and risks
• Experience leading installation, migration or decommissioning activities
• Strong technical documentation skills, including SOPs, troubleshooting guides and handover documentation

• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Teams Administrator Associate, Information Protection Administrator)

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have an AGSVA Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance
